Every one has a lesson.”THE SPIRIT OF THE COLLECTION
A STORY ROOTED IN EXPERIENCE

A life of learning.
A voice of his own.

Some lessons come from education. Others come through the hard realities of living. Anthony Ponder Sr. has learned from both.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Anthony served in the United States Marine Corps and worked in real estate for more than four decades as a broker and investor. He earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a concentration in substance abuse.

Those experiences inform his interest in human behavior, practical wisdom, and personal accountability. His poetry explores faith, family, inner-city realities, relationships, difficult decisions, and transformation—with the candor of a man willing to look at his own life honestly.

WHY HE WRITES

From life lessons
to lasting words.

For Anthony, writing is a way to examine experience and preserve the insights gained along the way.

His poems reflect gratitude for his parents, love for family, concern for his community, and an abiding belief in God’s grace. He writes about painful mistakes and their consequences while recognizing the possibility of forgiveness, renewed discipline, and a more purposeful life.

Faith, family & everyday gratitude.

Beyond the page, Anthony enjoys meditating on God’s Word, exercising, watching championship boxing, and spending time with his dog Nandi—always ready for a walk, a car ride, or a treat.

A PERSONAL INVITATION

The journey continues.

What have your experiences taught you? How will your decisions,
relationships, and faith shape the life you’re building?

Let these poems be the beginning of a conversation.
